Perspective grids

This week's task was perspective grids and for this I drew the inside of my university room. I wanted to really focus on the tones and values in this piece and to make sure that they did not look so monochromatic. I found it challenging to get the perspective right on this as there was so much detail in the image. The angle in which I decided to draw from was also testing because of the downward perspective this gives. Even though I did use a grid under this drawing, I think some of my accuracy got lost whilst spending time shading and I didn't focus on it enough. I was pleased with the end shading; however, I need to be more careful around the perspective.

This was the quick thumbnail sketch I did of the room originally when I tried to work out where my vanishing points would be. I found understanding the vanishing points and perspective lines challenging.
